Family Caregiver Support Agencies
November Charities Support People with Diverse Needs.
Celebrated every November, National Family Caregivers Month is a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the country. It offers an opportunity to raise awareness of care-giving issues, educate communities, and increase support for caregivers.
Our panelist will educate us on issues they face while supporting Family Care Providers of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and discuss ways we can support caregivers in our community.
“In the United States, more than 60 million caregivers provide invaluable strength and assistance to their family members, and as the number of older Americans rises, so will the number of caregivers. Many of these dedicated people work full time and raise children of their own while also caring for the needs of their loved ones. Caregivers support the independence of their family members and enable them to more fully participate in their communities, and as a Nation, we have an obligation to empower these selfless individuals.” – President Obama from the 2014 Presidential Proclamation
